A free, plain list of Ontario tax sales

Ontario municipalities must advertise every tax sale in the Ontario Gazette. The notices are public, but they are buried in a weekly government publication and written in legal shorthand. Tax Sale Watch reads every issue, pulls out the facts that matter and puts them in one searchable list.

What we publish

For each property: the municipality, the address or location where one is given, the assessment roll number and property identification number, the legal description, the assessed value, the minimum tender amount, when and where bids close, and the municipality's contact details. Every property links to the official notice so you can check it against the source.

What we do not do

We do not sell property, take bids or give legal advice. We are not connected to the Government of Ontario, any municipality or any other tax sale website. We do not know winning bid amounts, because the Gazette does not publish them.

How current is it?

The Gazette comes out on Saturdays and this site checks for the newest issues several times a day. The most recent issue in our base data is dated 2026-09-12. Sales can be cancelled or changed after a notice is published, and we may not hear about it. Always confirm with the municipality.

Mistakes

The notices are read by software. If you spot an error, tell us and we will fix it: hello@taxsalewatch.ca.
